About me
In my meetings with composer Barbara Pentland, she graciously shared insights into her life, career, and music. She also provided valuable feedback on interpretations of her piano compositions as I performed on the Steinway in her home studio.
My book Composer Barbara Pentland: The Music and the Message was shortlisted for an international award and I was described as “a world authority” (CBC Radio 2).
As a pianist I continue to record works by Pentland, including the world premiere of Small Pieces for a Shrinking Planet (1990-92), while teaching, lecturing, performing Pentland’s works internationally.
